Youth Bureau Sponsors Several Arts in the Parks Performances in July

OSWEGO COUNTY - The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau will sponsor several performances in July through the Traveling Arts in the Parks series. Each event is free and open to the public.

Wade Live performs at 10 a.m. July 10 at the Fulton War Memorial and at 1:30 p.m. at the David C Webb Memorial Park at Taft Bay, Constantia. Wade Live is a comedy magician traveling the country performing a unique blend of hilarious hijinx, gut busting comedy, magic and illusion. Wade is trained in many forms in the magical arts with a variety of shows ranging from close up and sleight of hand to large stage productions.

Doug Rougeux brings his Bubble Mania to Goettel Park, Central Square, at 10 a.m. July 15. Doug is a full-time professional entertainer who has been performing Bubble Mania to rave reviews since the early 90s. Doug likes to say "Bubbles made fresh since 1991." He also coined the phrase "Soap bubbles bigger than your head." His show has fantastic wit and a gentle, goofy way with kids of all ages. His professionalism on and off stage has kept Bubble Mania in high demand year after year with repeat performances at many venues.

The Magic of Virgil appears at East Park in Oswego on July 17 at 7 p.m. Virgil uses a combination of dynamic illusions and nonstop interaction that commands his audience's attention. He has performed thousands of shows nationwide as well as in Bermuda, London, Mexico, and Russia. Virgil has trained his hands extensively over the last 20 years to create a flawless ballet of magical sleight of hand.

Jeff the Magician appears at the Granby Community Center on July 20 at 1:30 p.m. and at the Palermo Town Park on July 22 at 1 p.m. Jeff dazzles audiences with a one-of-a-kind magical experience and great balloon creations, kids' magic show, and balloon animals. Jeff's performances are appropriate for all ages.

Traveling Arts in the Parks is funded by Oswego County, the Oswego Children's Board, the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, and participating town and city municipal programs.
