The Oswego County Health Department recently held a clinic for employees to receive their flu shots. More than 500 people were vaccinated during the three-hour practicum. The department continues to hold flu clinics for the public. They are open weekdays from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic, 70 Bunner St., Oswego for people age 19 and older. Children's flu vaccine is available at this location every Tuesday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and at the H. Douglas Barclay Courthouse in Pulaski on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 9 to 11 a.m. No appointment is necessary; walk-ins are welcome. The cost of the inactivated vaccine shot is $37 and $43 for the nasal vaccine flu mist. Both methods are covered by Medicaid and Medicare Part B. All patients with private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, or Medicaid or Medicare managed care should bring their benefit cards with them to the immunization clinic. No one will be turned away based on inability to pay.
