The Salmon River International Sportfishing Museum recently honored two long-time volunteers at an open house celebrating the museum's tenth anniversary. Board president Mike Riordan (center) presented plaques to treasurer Margaret Clerkin of Sandy Creek andcurator Fred Bettsof Phoenix for their tenacity and dedication in bringing the museum building to fruition. They spent years making sure the museum was completed and carefully cataloged and displayed thousands of items. The fishing museum is located at the Pulaski-Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, 3044 NYS Rte. 13, Altmar. It contains items that were part of the original Gladding Corporation collection, including handmade antique fishing rods, lures, reels and tackle, watercolors, historic prints and books.
