PULASKI - The Salmon River International Sport Fishing Museum will host "A Night at the Museum" from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, with a special presentation at 7 p.m. about the B.F. Gladding Corporation.
Michael Riordan, president of the museum's board of directors, will speak about his extensive collection ofphotos, historical documents, and real life accounts by individuals who worked at the fishing line manufacturing company in South Otselic. Riordan is in the process of writing a book for the 200th anniversary of the Gladding Company in 2016. The business started with a few employees to become the largest fishing line manufacturer in the world.
"The Gladding history is a true American story about a man with an idea, passion, and a will to provide and succeed," said Riordan. "The public is invited to come and hear this remarkable story that this museum has to tell."
The Salmon River International Sport Fishing Museum is the home of the Gladding Corporation's extensive collection of fishing tackle, lures, artwork and other items. The museum is located at 3044 state Route 13, three miles east of Pulaski.
