Several local museums, including the Oswego Railroad Museum, will sell local memorabilia and souvenirs at the Holiday History Shop in downtown Oswego again this year. The shop will located at the downtown SUNY Oswego store Wednesdays through Saturdays, Dec. 11 to 14 and Dec. 18 to 21.
Oswego- The annual Holiday History Shop returns again this year with memorabilia and souvenirs from museums and historical organizations around Oswego County. This year the shop will be located in the downtown SUNY Oswego store at West First and Bridge streets. The shop will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays, December 11-14 and December 18-21.
"The Holiday History Shop provides the community with a historical shopping opportunity in one location," said Mercedes Niess, Executive Director at the H. Lee White Marine Museum. "We are pleased to partner with SUNY Oswego's Downtown store and encourage residents to shop locally this holiday season."
The store will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, and noon to 6 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
This year, there will be over eight historical organizations present including the Marine Museum, Friends of Fort Ontario, the Oswego Railroad Museum, Richardson-Bates House Museum, as well as many more. Volunteers from these organizations, some in clothing representing four centuries of Oswego County history, will be present to discuss local history and help shoppers with their purchases. Items for sale include everything from books, sweatshirts and puzzles to lighthouse models, maps and cd's.
