FROSTBIT BLUE will close out the line-up of local bands performing at the Oswego County Balloon Festival in Sandy Creek the weekend of June 6 - 8. The event features balloon rides and balloon launches, food and crafts, children's activities, and plenty of music at the Oswego County Fairgrounds in Sandy Creek. SANDY CREEK - The countdown is underway for the first Oswego County Balloon Festival June 6, 7 and 8 at the Oswego County Fairgrounds in Sandy Creek. At least ten balloons in a variety of styles are expected to participate in the festival. Balloon glows will be held each evening, weather permitting, and balloonists have planned plenty of time for spectators to see launches and demonstrations and take balloon rides throughout the weekend. Launches are scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, and 5:45 to 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday mornings. Balloon glows will begin at 8:30 Friday and Saturday nights.
Balloon rides will be available through pilots Scott and Peter Griswold of Above All Balloon Rides of Syracuse. The Griswold family co-founded the Jamesville Balloon Festival many years ago. To book a ride in advance, call Peter Griswold at 315-263-6124.
Festival organizer Melissa Stevens has planned a full weekend of live music with Frostbit Blue closing out the entertainment at 7:30 Sunday night. Family activities will include a kids' bounce house, petting zoo, horse rides, and alpacas by Two Chicks Farm Alpacas. The festival offers a wine-tasting tent and alarge selection of food choices from popular local vendors including Garafolo's, Barlow's Concessions, Roberts Family BBQ, Smoothies on Wheels, Cheesecake on a Stick, and the Sandy Creek Fire Department. Several vendors and crafters will be sell hand-crafted jewelry and other items. The full band line-up includes:

The festival opens at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon and runs until 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The event is organized by All Over Events of Pulaski.One dollar of every admission ticket will benefit Music for the Mission of Syracuse. Admission is $10 at the gate and $8 advance sale. There is no admission charge for children age 10 and under. Onsite parking is included in the admission price.
