"Oswego's Got Talent" Holds Open Call for Local Youths

OSWEGO - Can you sing? Dance? Play a musical instrument or have another talent? The Harborfest Children's Committee is looking for youth performers to participate in "Oswego's Got Talent,"an event sponsored by the SUNY Oswego Small Business Development Center.

The competition features a visual and literary art exhibition along with a series of youth performances. The talent show begins at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 27 at the Novelis Family (Children's)Park in Franklin Square(West) Park on W. 4th St. in Oswego.

This is the second annual "Oswego's Got Talent," a community collaboration that celebrates young artists and performers for their creativity and diversity and creates an awareness of Oswego County's rich cultural resources. The event had a good turnout last year and the Children's Committee believes that this year will be even better as more children become involved in the longstanding Harborfest tradition of celebrating art and performance.

Everyone must submit a written application and those performing any music must submit a digital sample as well. Applications can be found every Thursday at the Oswego Farmers' Market on W. 1st St. in Oswego or anytime online at www.oswegoharborfest.com,onthe Children's Eventspage under the Acts and Events tab.
