Two Fulton Graduates Receive FAA Scholarship Awards

FULTON - The Fulton Art Association (FAA) presented two art scholarships at the commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 28 at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton.

The two $100 scholarships were bestowed upon graduating seniors Jack Ryan and Seth Rogers-Miller, who have each displayed special artistic talent. They were chosen by their teachers, Meredith Gill-Williams and Jackie Tyler.

"Jack Ryan has been active in the art word world displaying his work in district shows throughout Oswego County," said Gill-Williams. "Jack is very talented in the ceramics medium but has recently discovered his ability in 2D art. When he isn't creating art, he devotes his time to skiing, skateboarding, rock climbing and sailing." "Seth Rogers-Miller plans to attend RIT in the fall," said Tyler. "He will take art classes in college and stay undeclared until he knows what he wants to do for a career. Seth is very talented in whatever medium he uses. He inspires his peers with an out-of-the-box way of viewing and creating art. He has had his work shown in district shows in Oswego County and has received various awards."

Both of the scholarship winners participated in the Ceramics category at the 2014 High School Invitational Art and Photography Show held in March and sponsored by the Fulton Art Association, according to FAA President Kathy Mihalek.

Jack is the son of Patrick and Tracey Ryan of Fulton, and Seth is the son of Faith Rogers and William Miller, Jr. of Fulton. For more information about the FAA, call 315-532-3803.
