Tax Map Subdivision Fee Takes Effect Jan. 1

OSWEGO -The Oswego County Legislature approved a new fee schedule for changes to tax maps for subdivisions at its Nov. 13 meeting. The new fees take effect Jan. 1.

The resolution authorizes the Real Property Tax Office to require any subdivision that requires a change to a tax mapto be filed in the Real Property Tax Office with a fee before it is filed with the Oswego County Clerk.

Debra Mullenax, Director of the County Real Property Tax Service, said the new process makes updating tax maps for subdivisions more efficient and generatesrevenue to offset the cost of changing the maps.The fee schedule also applies to subdivision abandonments and condominiums.

  • Original maps, and changes to maps for subdivisions of four through nine lots are $50;

  • Original maps, and changes to maps for subdivisions of 10 or more lots are $100.
