The Oswego County Legislature recently proclaimed April 2015 as St. Baldrick'sMonthin Oswego County. Various fundraising efforts are planned in the Greater Oswego area during the month of April including "Shave for a Cure" on Sunday, April 12, when hundredsof participants will gather at the Lake Ontario Event and ConferenceCenter from 1 to 5 p.m. The event is open to the public and includes silent auctions and raffles.Many local organizations have joined the initiative and nearly 200 men, women and children have volunteered to shave their heads to raise money for the foundation. Last year, their efforts brought in more than $95,000. The St. Baldrick's Foundation works to raise awareness and funding to support childhood cancer research and treatments.
