Oswego County Honors Photo Contest Winners

OSWEGO COUNTY - The Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning recently announced the winners of the Oswego County Fishing and Hunting Guide Photo Contest. They were honored at a reception where they received certificates and prizes that included gift bags, gift certificates, and a variety of river and lake guided fishing trips.

The winners are Cynde Ciesla (Best in Show/Best Scenic); Duane St. Onge (Best Wildlife); Capt. Dave Silver (Best Lake, first place); Captain Ed Monette (Best Lake, second place); Francis Hoefer (Best River); George O'Brien (Best Catch and Release); Barbara Deary (Best Deer, first place); Mike Cleary (Best Deer, second place); Casey Coughlin (Best Youth Fishing, first place); Trevor Mayer (Best Youth Fishing, second place); and Charlie Searor (Best Youth Hunting).

The prizes were presented by the Oswego County Community Development, Tourism and Planning Department's Director David Turner, and Tourism and Public Information Liaison Lisa Gray.

Prizes were donated by Capt. Jimmy Samia of Ace Charters; Steven Kowalski of Angling Adventure Guide Service; Capt. Ed Monette of Cannonball Runner Charters; Capt. Greg and Kris Gehrig of K&G Lodge and Top Gun Charters; Capt. David Silver of Reel Silver Charters; captains Daniel R. Coleman, Sr. and Jr. of Strike King Charters & Lodge; The Tailwater Lodge; and Capt. Richard Miick of Trophy Dreamcatcher Charters & Guide Service.

The Oswego County Community Development, Tourism and Planning Department provided free advertising space on the tourism Web site to river guides and charter captains who submitted winning photographs.

Twenty-six people submitted nearly 90 photos to the contest. Winning photos will appear in the new Oswego County Fishing and Hunting Guide due out in early 2016. Approximately 80,000 guides will be printed and distributed at trade shows and to individuals throughout the Northeast, greater U.S. and Canada.
