VOLNEY - The Oswego County Emergency Management Office/Emergency Medical Services will offer an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT) course beginning in October at the Joint Information Center, 10 Airport Drive, Volney.
An EMT-B Original/Refresher course will begin Wednesday, Oct. 14, and will conclude on April 5, 2016. A New York State written exam will be held April 21, 2016. Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays beginning at 6:30 p.m. some weeks, and Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 6:30 p.m. other weeks, as well as some Sundays at 8:30 a.m.
A course schedule is available by calling the Oswego County Emergency Management Office at 315/591-9150. Adam Howard, EMT-B, CIC (Certified Course Instructor), will be the instructor.
The course covers all skills required by New York State Emergency Medical Services for certification of Basic Emergency Medical Technicians. The class is designed for individuals wishing to become EMTs as well as those wishing to be re-certified.
