Registration Open for the Tourism Ambassador Program May 23 in Brewerton
BREWERTON - Oswego Expeditions will offer a free guided history tour from Oswego to the Oswego County Tourism Ambassador Program in Brewerton Monday, May 23.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at 916 Riverside (formerly the Castaways), 916 County Route 37, Brewerton. The program will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. Shuttle passengers will arrive back in Oswego at approximately 5 p.m.
The full-day workshop includes lunch and is free to all participants. The program is designed to increase the hospitality knowledge of business owners, front-line staff, volunteers and community leaders in Oswego County. The workshop includes a short series of regional presentations focusing on the area's natural, cultural and heritage resources with an emphasis on the North Shore area.

Those wishing to take the Oswego Expeditions shuttle need to register separately for the transportation by contacting Jennifer Mays at email@example.com, phone 315-561-0223. The shuttle will leave at 8:30 a.m. from the Richard Pfund Maritime Boating Education Center, 11 Lake St., Oswego. Oswego County Historian Justin White and tour guide Norman Berlin will narrate the tour with highlights of local landmarks and the area's history. The shuttle is free.
Workshop presenters include Glenn Donnelly, president of the CNY Raceway Park; George DeRousie, president of the Fort Brewerton Greater Oneida Lake Chamber of Commerce; Mercedes Niess and Ted Panayotoff of the H. Lee White Maritime Museum; David Turner, Kara Alheim and Janet Clerkin of the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning; Jennifer Mays, Oswego Expeditions; and Heathe and Christopher Jones of Cre8 Studios. After lunch, keynote speaker Lynn "Spike" Herzig of the Herzig Group will give a presentation on hospitality training and the visitor experience, followed by a social media workshop for businesses and attractions by Kara Alheim, and Heathe and Chris Jones.
Businesses and attractions are encouraged to bring brochures to share their information at a brochure exchange station at the restaurant.
The TAP is sponsored by the Fort Brewerton Greater Oneida Lake Chamber of Commerce, 916 Riverside, Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning, Cre8 Studios, H. Lee White Maritime Museum, Oswego Expeditions, and the Herzig Group. A free lunch will be sponsored by 916 Riverside and the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning.
