COUNTY LEGISLATURE RECOGNIZES NATIONAL FOSTER PARENT APPRECIATION MONTH
The Oswego County Legislature's Human Services Committee presented a proclamation designating May as Foster Parent Appreciation Month to the Oswego County Department of Social Services, Foster Care Unit. Approximately 30,000 young people in the U.S. leave the foster care system every year without lifelong families. There is a call to action for devoted foster parents to step forward and change the life of a child or youth in foster care by providing them with the security and stability that they need.
