OFA Will Distribute Farmers Market Coupon Books Starting June 29
OSWEGO COUNTY - The Oswego County Office for the Aging will distribute Farmers Market Coupon Booklets beginning Wednesday, June 29. There are a limited number of coupon booklets available and distribution is on a first come, first served basis.
In order to be eligible, individuals must be age 60 and over and have a gross income at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty guidelines ($1,832 monthly for a one-person household; $2,470 monthly for a two-person household; income levels increase by $642/month per person), or be age 60 and over and currently receiving or be eligible to receive SSI, public assistance or Section 8 housing subsidy. Each older adult in a household is eligible to receive a booklet if they meet the age and income requirements.
Booklets cannot be mailed and may not be picked up by proxies; booklets must be picked up in person.
Coupon booklets may be picked up Wednesday and Thursday, June 29 and 30, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the front lobby of the Oswego County Office Complex, 70 Bunner St., Oswego, and weekdays thereafter at the Office for the Aging in the County Office Complex at 70 Bunner St., Oswego.
Depending on availability, the Office for the Aging staff is scheduled to distribute farmers' market coupon booklets at the following locations on the following dates:
Call n Ride transportation is available to the Constantia site for those who live in the Central Square School District. Call 598-1514 to reserve a seat.
Transportation is available to the Phoenix and Fulton nutrition sites. To reserve a seat and meal call the Phoenix site at 695-4841 or the Fulton site at 592-3408.
There are a limited number of booklets available, and booklets will be distributed until the supply is depleted. Those with questions regarding the coupon booklets may call the Office for the Aging weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 349-3484.
