Oswego County Announces Bicentennial Photo Contest Winners
OSWEGO COUNTY - The Oswego County Bicentennial Photo Contest Committee recently announced the winners of the competition. Twenty people submitted nearly 80 photos to the contest. Finalists were displayed at the Oswego County Fair in Sandy Creek where the public was invited to vote for their favorite picture in eight separate categories.
The winners are Kassondra Burdick (Recreation, first place); Danielle DelConte (Agriculture, first place); Joe Falcetti (Architecture, first place and Best in Show; Historic, first place; Recreation, second place); Francis Hoefer (Arts and Events, first and second place; Wildlife, second place); Thomas Jones (Architecture, second place); Florence McDougall (Arts and Events, second place; Monuments, first place); Michele Parkhurst (Historic, second place; Scenic, first place); Duane St. Onge (Scenic, second place; Wildlife, first place) and Kelley Sheldon (Agriculture, second place).
The winners will be honored at a reception at the Tailwater Lodge in Altmar on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. Their photos will appear in various Oswego County advertisements and publications which are distributed at trade shows and to individuals throughout the Northeast, greater U.S. and Canada. The images will also be used by local historical societies in their promotions and publications.
