LEGISLATURE PROCLAIMS YOUTH COURT MONTH - The Oswego County Legislature's Human Services Committee presented a proclamation designating September as Youth Court Month. Youth courts are one of the fastest growing crime prevention and early intervention programs in the nation. Using constructive peer pressure and a philosophy of "teens helping teens," youth courts empower young people and help them develop leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills while educating them about legal processes and judicial systems. Nearly a dozen students were at-hand to mark the occasion and receive the proclamation with representatives of the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.
