Explore Oswego for Final County Bicentennial Tour

OSWEGO COUNTY - Oswego County celebrated its 200th anniversary this year with a series of heritage bus tours throughout the county. Sign up today for the fifth and final excursion which features the city of Oswego and enjoy an 'education through exploration' experience. "The bicentennial bus tours were designed to showcase the entirety of Oswego County," said Jennifer Mays, owner/operator of Destination Expeditions, LLC. "They not only highlight the beautiful, natural environments that is made of, but also the numerous historical sites and societies that work tirelessly to preserve each village, town and city's heritage." The next tour runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, November 4. The itinerary features visits to the Richardson Bates House Museum, H. Lee White Maritime Museum, Safe Haven Holocaust Refugee Shelter Museum, and a walking tour of the interior grounds at Fort Ontario State Historic Site. Admission is $45 for adults and $35 for seniors and students. It includes transportation with narrative by Oswego County Historian Justin White, museum entry fees, drinks, and lunch at The Cellar Door Brewery, located in the newly-renovated historic Woodruff Block Building.
