OSWEGO COUNTY TOURISM ADVISORY COUNCIL NAMES 2016 TOURISM AMBASSADORS -The Oswego County Tourism Advisory Council honored the Lioness Club of Central Square as one of its 2016 Oswego County Tourism Ambassadors for their annual Central Square Apple Festival. For the last 33 years, the club has organized the highly successful event, which attracts more than 20,000 visitors over a three-day weekend in September, with support from local groups and volunteers. Proceeds from the festival are donated back to the community to support programs for the sight- and hearing-impaired, food pantries, libraries, emergency services along the north shore of Oneida Lake, and the Oswego County Search and Rescue Team. The 2017 festival will run from September 22 to 24 at the Brewerton Speedway. Pictured from left are David Turner, director of the Oswego County Community Development, Tourism and Planning Department; Apple Festival directors Denise Porter, Nancy House and Jill Schilly; and David Rath, chairman of the Oswego County Tourism Advisory Council. Absent from the photo were Apple Festival directors Ellen Sykes, Nancy DeGilormo, and Sharon Bauer.
