Feb. 27, 2017Workshop Set for March 16
OSWEGO - Oswego County is once again working with neighboring counties to promote awareness and education about solar energy in Central New York. The Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board is coordinating Solarize CNY as their 'Go Green in 2017' campaign with a series of workshop presentations in a five-county region.
Oswego County hosts its workshop on Thursday, March 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center on East First Street in Oswego. The event is free and is coordinated by the Oswego County Environmental Management Council.
Participants will learn about 'going solar' from various perspectives. They can meet and talk to installers who are approved by New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) as well as past customers who will share their own experiences. They can also sign up at the event to receive a free solar assessment.
The campaign is part of an initiative to reduce the start-up costs of solar power by utilizing a negotiated, reduced price for solar installation as well as federal and state tax credits and other incentives.
