Submitting your entry

When you have found your Big Tree entry and completed the required measurements, fill out the attached entry form and return to the Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District.

Scoring of your entry

One point is given for each foot of height (A), each inch of circumference (B) and for every 4 feet of average crown spread (C). The total points are calculated with the following equation:

Total Points = A+B+C

Determination of Champions

Entries will be reviewed by staff members of the Oswego County Environmental Management Council and Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District for the determination of champions. The winning entries may also be checked by staff as a means of verification.

ID guides and certificates will be available on September 22, 2007 at the Salmon River Fish Hatchery Open House in Altmar.
