Take steps now to prepare for and respond to an emergency. One way to prepare is by making an emergency supply kit.

Your emergency supply kit should contain three days worth of:

  • Water: one gallon of water for each person per day for drinking and hygeine.

  • Non-perishable, ready-to-eat canned or packaged foods, pet food, and a manual can opener

  • Battery-operated AM/FM radio and extra batteries

  • Flashlight and batteries

  • Whistle to signal for help

  • Personal hygeine items, feminine hygeine products, toothbrush, and toothpaste

  • Moist towelettes and garbage bags

  • Cell phone and chargers including a car charger

  • Child care supplies or other special care items
