Where is your office located?
We have offices in Fulton, NY and Mexico, NY.
Our Fulton office is located in the Oswego County Building at 200 N. 2nd St. (across from Mimi's Diner).
Our Mexico office is located within the Oswego County Department of Social Services building at 100 Spring St.
Services vary by location.
How can I get help with my resume?
Active customers have a few options for resume assistance, which include:
- Using our computers, printers, copiers to create your own resume
- Attending our "Effective Resume Writing" workshop
- Using the NYSDOL's JobZone program to create your own resume
- Completing a resume worksheet prior to discussing with an employment and training professional. Our staff will then create a resume for you (please allow up to five business days).
I don't have much work history. Can I still make a resume?
Yes. Our staff can help you to figure out what skills, education and experience you can list on a resume.
I'm already working. Can your office still help me?
Our office can assist anyone who is looking for work - whether it's your first job or a better job.
Note: Some limitations apply for individuals currently employed full time at $28 per hour or more.
Can your office give me a job?
With the exception of our Summer Youth Employment Program, our office doesn't place individuals in jobs. We are here to give you the tools and resources to find employment.
How do I apply for Unemployment Insurance benefits?
There are two ways you can file a new claim: by phone 888-209-8124 or online at www.labor.ny.gov/signin (must create a NY.Gov ID).
How to I apply for a training scholarship?
Oswego County Employment and Training has funding available to offer scholarships to our customers who need assistance paying for educational programs. Active customers can set up a time to meet with a staff person to discuss your individual circumstances and goals to see if we may be able to assist you.

Where can I receive free income tax preparation?
Our Fulton office (in partnership with SUNY Oswego) is a VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) site each year. Taxes are prepared by IRS-certified SUNY Oswego students and submitted electronically. Students are usually on site one day per week from January-April.

How do I apply for a work experience with Youth Works?
Youth who are eligible and enrolled with Youth Works should discuss a work experience assignment with their employment specialist.
