How do I dispose of paint?

Empty paint cans may be thrown away in the garbage.

How do I dispose of tires from my home?
Residents may bring tires to any of the five county transfer stations year round during regular transfer station hours. You must go across the scale to weigh and pay for them. Tires are not included on the residential sticker. The price to dispose of tires is $150 ton, with a minimum charge of $10 (120 lbs or less).

All transfer stations are closed two weekdays plus Sunday. Hours vary by location.

How do I purchase a residential sticker?
Residential stickers are available at all five transfer stations during regular transfer station hours. Please keep in mind the sale of stickers ends at 3:30 p.m. during the week, and 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays.
Bring proof of residency, vehicle registration, and the vehicle when you purchase the sticker.
Sticker must be affixed to vehicle. No hand passes are permissible. Stickers may be used by the purchaser for waste generated by their household only.
What items can I bring to the transfer station on my residential sticker?
The residential sticker covers household waste and furniture. Tires, boats, campers, hot tubs, swimming pools, large carpets, and construction debris must be weighed and the resident must pay $150 ton ($10 minimum) at time of disposal.
A small amount of construction debris is allowed on the sticker each visit. A small amount is what a resident can physically carry from the vehicle to the pit in one trip.

How do I purchase an additional residential sticker for my household?
You may get an additional sticker from any transfer station during regular transfer station hours. You will need to bring your proof of residency (that shows the same residence as the first sticker), the receipt from the first purchase, and the registration for the additonal vehicle. The vehicle must also be present. There is a $10 fee.
How do I get a replacement residential sticker?
Remove the sticker if the vehicle is sold, junked, or destroyed. Bring your proof of residency, the replacement vehicle, registration and the original sticker. The charge is $10.
What are the prepaid trash bags?
Prepaid trash bags are 13-gallon tall kitchen bags that are purchased in sleeves of 10 for $20 (proof of residency required). Once a bag is full, bring it to any transfer station during regular hours for disposal. There is no need to weigh in.
How do I get a certified weight to register my trailer with the DMV?
Bring the trailer to any transfer station, except Hannibal, during regular scale hours. The fee is $12.50 per certification.
