Oswego County Assigned Counsel Program
Responsibilities and services: The Assigned Counsel Program provides attorneys at taxpayer expense to financially eligible persons in qualifying criminal and family court cases
*PLEASE NOTE*: The Assigned Counsel Program does NOT make assignments to financially eligible persons. The Court is responsible for determining who qualifies for an assigned attorney, and then assigns an attorney for those deemed eligible.
Complaints: Should you have a complaint regarding an attorney who has been assigned to represent you, please contact the New York State Appellate Division: Fourth Judicial Department. This office does not handle complaints.
COVID-19 Policies: The Assigned Counsel Program continues to work remotely. Voicemails and regular mail will be checked regularly, and will be responded to in a timely manner. However, the easiest and quickest way to get ahold of someone in the office is via e-mail. Please email any questions or issues to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
