About Us

As your child with special needs travels through the many phases of his or her life, the Oswego County Health Department-Children with Special Needs Division hopes you will find comfort in knowing there is a whole team of professionals who are here to help. We can guide you through the sometimes confusing educational and health care systems, and help you find the services that best suit your family's needs.

From the Early Intervention/Child Find programs, right on through the Children with Special Health Care Needs program, you will find caring professionals who are knowledgeable about the services each program has to offer. Our Service Coordinators provide one-on-one services to determine the best course of action for you and your family.

No one knows more about your child's special needs and abilities than you do. The most important skill we can impart to you is learning how to navigate the system. If we have done our jobs properly, we have given you, the parents and caregivers, the tools you need to help advocate for your children throughout their educational and community lives.
