Rope Rescue Team
Specializing in rope rescue techniques for rescues on grades, below grade and confined space rescue. The team has an active membership in the roles of rope technician, confined space technician and operations. Recent grant acquisitions will add tower rescue into the trained specialties.
Equipment is provided for members through county and department equipment caches, as well as local business partners. Team training includes skills development and reinforcement, rappelling, climbing, alternate rescue techniques from target hazards, and an emphasis is placed on hands-on skills. Confined space skills do involve respiratory protection utilizing Scott supplied air carts.
Membership requires authorization from the member's home department, as well as a department physical if utilizing supplied air. Drills are usually the third Sunday of the month and rotate locations among members departments.
