Mission Statement
Probation serves a role in enhancing community safety and reducing recidivism by providing supervision, balanced between treatment, monitoring, and enforcement, in order to facilitate offender change. We assist those under supervision to address many types of issues including mental health, substance abuse, education, job skills, family or parenting skills, as well as any other issues identified cooperatively by the probation officer and the offender, in order to reduce risk and allow them to be a productive member of society. Probation is a cost-effective alternative to incarceration and also serves to hold offenders accountable for their actions. In addition, probation can assist in the collection of restitution, in an effort to make victims whole.
