Pre-trial release monitors defendants in the community with pending charges until their final sentencing. This is accomplished through weekly telephone contact with defendants. A defendant can be placed on pre-trial release after being incarcerated or released directly from court.

Terms and conditions of pre-trial release are ordered by the court and tailored to the defendant based on the nature of the charges, use of substances, and mental health issues as well as educational and employment history. Failure to comply with the pre-trial release terms and conditions results in court notification and possible revocation of this status.
