Oswego County Workforce New York Holds Two Events to Help Job Seekers

April 26, 2024

Oswego County Workforce New York (OCWNY) welcomes job seekers to polish up their resume on May 6, and bring it to the annual spring job fair on May 9.

The resume session is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6 at the OCWNY Career Center, 200 N. Second St., Fulton (across from Mimi’s Drive-In Diner).

The spring job fair runs from 2 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, 26 E. First St., Oswego.

“We’re excited to offer these opportunities for local job seekers,” said Oswego County Department of Workforce Development Director Rachel Pierce. “The resume session connects candidates with employment specialists who will help them create or update their resumes ahead of the spring job fair.

“Applicants can bring their polished resumes to the event, so they are ready to talk to potential employers about the experience and skills they bring to the job openings available,” she continued. “Candidates can also learn about free training opportunities and other employment services available to them at the job fair.”

Applicants don’t need to participate in the resume session to attend the job fair and appointments are not required for either event.

Sixty employers are scheduled to attend the annual spring job fair where they will meet with candidates and discuss available positions in areas such as manufacturing, trades, banking, health care and more.

The event is sponsored by Oswego Health, Pathfinder Bank, and various radio stations including 92.1 The Wolf, 96.5 The Beat, 103.9 The Dinosaur and 92.5 Fox Sports.
