Learn How to Save a Life, EMT Training Classes Begin March 24

March 3, 2023

The Oswego County Emergency Management Office (EMO) offers emergency medical technician (EMT) training at the Oswego County Office Building, 200 N. Second St., Fulton.

The 10-week course begins on Friday, March 24 and runs through Friday, June 2. Classes meet from 6 to 10 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with two Saturday classes. The first is April 29, the second is May 20 and both sessions run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Saturday, June 3, the New York State hands-on exam will test students’ skills following the course. After successful completion of the practical test, students will be contacted by New York State to schedule them for a written exam at a nearby testing center. After receiving a passing result on that exam, students will be awarded their EMT certification.

The cost for the course is $775.

EMT classes help prepare students to provide pre-hospital assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries.
