Visit Oswego County Libraries for Summer Reading Fun

July 7, 2023

Kick off summer by signing up for a reading program at a public library in Oswego County! Summer reading programs encourage kids to continue reading over the summer while allowing them to track their progress to win prizes.

Many local libraries will be following the North Country Library System’s 2023 summer reading program theme, “All Together Now.” The theme encourages people of all ages to participate in summer reading and is focused on community, friendship and kindness.

Program participants can track their reading and enter to win prizes at the end of the program. Prizes vary by library, but include gift cards to local businesses, themed gift baskets, passes to local attractions and more.

Readers can also have a fun adventure by obtaining their Oswego County Libraries Summer Reading Passport! Visit five libraries located in Oswego County to be eligible to win a Kindle Fire 7 tablet, a $25 Visa gift card or a $25 Walmart gift card. Passports must be brought to each library visited to be stamped and, when full, can be turned in at any Oswego County library by Sept. 2. The drawing will be held on Oct. 6 and winners will be notified.

Most libraries will be hosting events throughout the summer, such as weekly story times, themed activities, guest visits at the library and more.
