The Schroeppel Historical Society presents “The History and Ecology of Lake Ontario” on Monday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. The presentation will be held at the historical society, 486 Main St., Phoenix.

Susan P. Gateley will present in-depth information about Lake Ontario from her experience as a sailor, biologist and educator. She has written multiple books about Lake Ontario over the years, including “Saving the Beautiful Lake,” “A Natural History of Lake Ontario,” “The Widow Maker” and many others.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Schroeppel Historical Society. Donations are greatly appreciated.
