Submit Your Comments on Workforce Improvement Plan Today!

Oswego County Workforce New York (OCWNY) is looking for your feedback on Central New York’s regional plan focused on improving the local workforce!

OCWNY works with regional partners in Cayuga, Cortland and Onondaga counties to create and maintain plans which will strengthen local workforces by helping employers recruit and retain skilled workers and by helping job seekers overcome barriers to employment.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) reinforces these efforts. It requires regional plans to be reviewed and updated at the end of the first two years of a four-year planning period.

Local workforce development board directors from across the region collaborated to review the plan and determine what changes were required. Following a public comment period, the revisions will be submitted to the New York State Department of Labor for inclusion.

Residents are asked to go to OCWNY’S website at https://ocwny.org/about/about-us-about/ to review the plan. Anyone wishing to comment can send an email to ocwny@oswegocounty.com with the subject line, “WIOA Regional Plan Public Comment” by Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 5 p.m.
