Oswego Music Hall Welcomes Mile Twelve to the Main Stage Jan. 27

Jan. 19, 2024

The Oswego Music Hall presents Mile Twelve on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the McCrobie Civic Center, 41 Lake St., Oswego.

Mile Twelve is back in motion! From the first manic, dissonant downbeat of their virtuosic new record, “Close Enough to Hear,” you’ll discover a band that is ready to explode from a restless pandemic-induced hiatus.

These musicians are clearly working through some hard questions posed by the last few years. You’ll hear the same warmth and innovation that earned the band International Bluegrass Music Association’s nomination for Album of the Year in 2019 and award for New Artist of the Year in 2020 which has given them an international reputation as one of the most dynamic groups in contemporary acoustic music.

Recently two new members have joined the band: fiddler and vocalist Ella Jordan and mandolinist Korey Brodsky. They add a new dimension to the band and have locked in well with founding members Evan Murphy (guitar, vocals), Catherine Bowness (banjo) and Nate Sabat (bass, vocals)

This is a band looking forward, simultaneously shoring up their bluegrass foundations while also pushing their musical boundaries into new territory. Listeners will detect flavors of jazz in “Red Grapes on the Vine,” acoustic pop in “Take Me As I Am” and trance music in “Light of Angels.”
