The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau announces the return of a summer day camp program at Camp Zerbe this summer. Seven weekly sessions are planned for children aged 6 to 12.

“We are excited to continue expanding our summer camp offerings at Camp Zerbe,” said Oswego County Parks and Recreation Coordinator Kyle Perez. “Based on the success of last year’s schedule, we’re extending our day camp program from six to seven weeks. Each session has a unique theme and will provide campers with a fun experience and a better understanding of nature.”

Camp sessions are $30 per week and will run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The seven sessions included in this year’s program are as follows:

• Week 1: July 1 to 5 – Holidays Week
• Week 2: July 8 to 12 – Pirates Week
• Week 3: July 15 to 19 – Sports Camp Week
• Week 4: July 22 to 26 – Shooting Stars Week
• Week 5: July 29 to Aug. 2 – Olympics Week
• Week 6: Aug. 5 to 9 – Game Show Week
• Week 7: Aug. 12 to 16 – Spirit Week

Camp Zerbe is also looking for counselors for the summer camp program.

Summer camp counselors work at Camp Zerbe through the Oswego AmeriCorps Program, which serves county youth by providing fitness and nutrition education activities during the camp day. AmeriCorps members receive a living allowance and, upon completion of the program, also receive an educational award that can be used to pay on student loans or finance college, graduate school or vocational training at qualified institutions. The Oswego County Nature Park at Camp Zerbe is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. The 540-acre facility is located in Williamstown and includes an interpretive nature center, playground and other amenities. It also offers pavilion and lodge rentals during the summer months.
