Oswego Music Hall Welcomes Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen on March 9

March 1, 2024

Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen take the main stage at the Oswego Music Hall on Saturday, March 9. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at the McCrobie Civic Center, 41 Lake St., Oswego.

A torrent of mind-blowing bluegrass, known for their meaty pile-driving rhythms and Solivan’s dynamic and bold vocals, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen is among the most respected and sought-after bands in the business. The group’s deep understanding of the bluegrass tradition collides live on stage with a rock-tinged fiery virtuosity that pushes the boundaries of the genre.

The band brings it up a notch on their newest release, “Hold On,” and dazzles on covers including Newgrass Revival’s, “Sail to Australia” (featuring NGR’s bassist John Cowan on harmony vocals), Buzz Busby’s “Lost,” and a crafty cover of Orleans’ “Sails.” Their instrumental savvy and deep groove combined with Solivan’s original material introduces several outstanding songs destined to take their place in the bluegrass canon.

Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen includes banjo master Mike Munford, guitarist Chris Luquette and bassist Jeremy Middleton. The band’s last two albums both received a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album and they have twice been named International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Instrumental Group of the Year. They have earned numerous other IBMA nominations including Male Vocalist of the Year and Mandolin Player of the Year, and received Banjo Player of the Year in 2013.

Their massive sound and show-stealing performances command the most prestigious stages in the U.S. and abroad – from The Grand Ole Opry to international festivals across Europe, South America and Australia. The band has performed at the biggest bluegrass festivals including Telluride, MerleFest, Grey Fox, RockyGrass, Delfest, Strawberry Music Festival, Pickin’ in the Pines, ROMP and countless more.
