Come out to The Art Scene at CNY Arts Center for two weekends of theater! “Always a Bridesmaid” is a fun-filled adult comedy set to light up the stage at 212 Cayuga St., Fulton. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, April 5 and 6, and 12 and 13. Matinee performances start at 2 p.m. on Sundays, April 7 and 14. Admission is $18 for adults and $15 for seniors.

In this hilarious romp, four friends have sworn to keep the promise they made on the night of their senior prom – to be in each other’s weddings no matter what. More than 30 years later, these Southern friends-for-life are still making “the long walk” for each other. Join the ladies as they reminisce about their own nuptial adventures while preparing for the next generation of wedded bliss.

The six talented actresses taking the stage are Sherri Metz, Beverly Minster Murtha, Jennifer Waugh and Beth DeRousie as the four bridesmaids, along with Millie Grace as the wedding planner and Megan Murtha as the young bride-to-be.

 Audiences will be transported back to the historic Laurelton Oaks in Virginia thanks to the hard work and effort of set creators Bob and Diane “Skeeter” Collins. A lot of preparation goes into designing and building sets where all the action takes place. This husband-and-wife team are appreciated for all that they do to bring the stage to life before the lights go up on opening night. Dedicated theater lovers, the Collins’ have been long-time advocates for community theater in and around Central New York and lend their time and talents whenever they can.

Director Paul McKinney’s production of this Jones-Hope-Wooten comedy is presented through special arrangements with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York. It takes the stage at The Art Scene at CNY Arts Center, a newly renovated space thanks to a grant from the City of Fulton’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative Program.
