Learn How to Manage Chronic Pain This Spring

The Oswego County Health Department hosts a Chronic Pain Self-Management Program (CPSMP) for residents this spring. The series starts April 10 and continues every Wednesday through May 15. Each session runs from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic, 70 Bunner St., Oswego.

The interactive six-week series is a peer-led education program designed for people who live with chronic pain or those who care for someone with chronic pain.

Participants will learn daily skills to manage ongoing health conditions, such as:

  • Coping strategies
  • The “Moving Easy” Program
  • Appropriate use of medications
  • How to describe and communicate pain to family and health care team
  • Healthy eating for pain management
  • How to make decisions and take action
