District Attorney

ANTHONY J. DiMARTINO, JR.

District Attorney / Coroner

The Oswego County District Attorney's Office prosecutes all level of crimes and offenses that occur in Oswego County. Prosecutors appear in Oswego County Court on an almost daily basis, to prosecute felony offenses. The office regularly presents cases to the grand jury, which may issue an indictment on felony cases. The DA's office also makes bail recommendations on felony arrests.

Prosecutors appear in both Oswego City Court and Fulton City Court on a weekly basis and appear in most town/village courts on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, depending upon the preference of the local magistrate.

The District Attorney makes every effort to obtain input from crime victims regarding the outcome or disposition of a case, as well as the victim's view regarding sentencing. Prosecutors work to obtain justice for victims who have suffered a loss as a result of a crime, which includes obtaining restitution for: the value of stolen property, the cost of repairing damaged property, or reimbursement for medical expenses resulting from assaults. Victim advocates are located at the DA's office, courtesy of Services to Aid Families (SAF).

District Attorney Anthony J. DiMartino, Jr. also serves and acts as the coroner for Oswego County, which involves investigating the cause, manner, and circumstances of unattended and suspicious deaths that occur in the county, which includes Lake Ontario and Oneida Lake.
If you have received a traffic ticket for a Vehicle and Traffic infraction, and are not represented by an attorney, and if you wish to request a reduction from the District Attorney's Office, you may find directions for doing so at our Traffic Ticket How To page.

If you are charged with a criminal offense, you should contact your attorney to get information about appearance dates. If you are not represented by an attorney, the court must be able to reach you to advise of appearance dates. If you have moved and/or changed telephone numbers since your arrest, please write the court to advise of such changes to avoid a warrant being issued.

If you are a victim and wish to contact the Assistant District Attorney (ADA) that is handling your case, please review the Court Assignment list on this website, which provides the name of the ADA assigned to particular courts and their contact information. Victims may also call the District Attorney's Office at 315-349-3200 to obtain information about their case.
