NYS Rte. 3 Re-opened After Motor Vehicle Accident

Yesterday afternoon, at around 12:25 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident at the intersection of state Route 3 and county Route 8 in the Town of Granby. 

Investigation revealed that a 2010 Toyota Prius was traveling northbound on county Route 8 when it entered the intersection and collided with a 2014 Kenworth tractor trailer that was traveling eastbound on state Route 3.  The driver of the Toyota Prius, identified as Benjamin Stone, who is 54 years old and from Tully, N.Y., was transported to Upstate Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the 2014 Kenworth tractor trailer, David Baughman, who is 61 years old and from Tonawanda, N.Y., was released from the scene without injuries.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on-scene by the New York State Police, Menter Ambulance, Granby Volunteer Fire Department, Hannibal Volunteer Fire Department and New York State Department of Transportation.

This incident is still under investigation.
